Help Shape Positive Change

The United Hospital Fund is a nonprofit health services research and philanthropic organization whose mission is to shape positive change in health care for the people of New York.  Its funding sources include:
• Individual donors;
• Foundations and corporations; and
• An endowment built over the last century by generations of caring New Yorkers.

Your donation to the Fund's annual Campaign for a Healthier New York provides necessary additional support for the Fund's current initiatives and strategic grantmaking, and allows the Fund to maintain its record of leadership and accomplishment.  All donations can be made in honor or memory of someone; an appropriate acknowledgment will be sent as requested.  Please donate now.

You can also support the Fund through bequests and other planned giving, gifts of stock, and participation in special events.

As a participant in the Better Business Bureau Charity Seal program, our organization has met all 20 of the National Standards for Charity Accountability.  Those standards evaluate nonprofit organizations’ financial accountability, governance and oversight, effectiveness measures, and fundraising and informational materials. In addition, information about the Fund's goals, capacity to achieve its goals, and measurement philosophy is available on-line, consistent with the Fund's commitment to accountability and transparency.

As of August 2009, the Fund had $90.5 million in unrestricted endowment funds, which partially support the Fund's annual operating budget of $13 million and help ensure our independent leadership role now and for generations to come.

For a detailed look at some of the Fund’s accomplishments over the past year, please see our most recent Annual Report.

The United Hospital Fund is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization (federal i.d. number 13-1562656).  Our most recent financial filings are available for review.
